The Oaks ITV supernatural series

ITV has just started filming a new five part show working title “The Oaks”. The show is a collaborative effort by ITV and Fox, it was written by Stephen Greenhorn who based it on the US Pilot by David Schulner. The story sounds pretty cool, set over a few decades we see three families all living in the same house at different times and the house is haunted. The cast is looking pretty cool too, though there’s no word on what decade who is appearing in. We’ve got Alex Kingston, Jodie Whittaker, Shelley Conn, Dean Andrews, Anne Reid and Tessa Peake-Jones. Shelley Conn is doing great at present, she also just snagged a role in upcoming time travel series Terra Nova.
Lawyers for Less pilot coming from Fox

Because we need another legal series, there just are not enough. On the upside this pilot has a comedy edge given it’s being touted as a legal comedy drama, so at least it isn’t just another legal drama. Lawyers For Less is the creation of Danny Comden, he’ll also star in the show. Comden stated the lawyers in the show, one who has just returned from disbarment are there to “bring reasonable doubt at a reasonable price”.I’m not a huge fan of Comden, but his fans will no doubt be totally thrilled he’s not only writing a new show, but also starring in it, that is assuming it get over the pilot phase. Given the production behind it, this one is looking fairly likely.
NBC pilot order Guinea Pig Diaries: My Life as an Experiment

Jack Black is producing a new comedy show, based on the non-fiction book “Guinea Pig Diaries: My Life As An Experiment” by A. J. Jacobs. The book and therefore the show will focus on a writer / journalist who in witty manner is affected by the jobs he undertakes. If the Jack Black produced show can pick up on some of the wit of the book, this might actually be pretty good, dependent on casting. Reviews for the book have been wholly positive and some of the things he does in his books a little strange. Here’s hoping Jack Black can work some of his magic in there, rather than just helping to bankroll this baby.
