Boy George has been told that he will not be allowed to take part in the new season of Celebrity Big Brother which is set to start on Sunday January 3rd. The singer’s legal team have been trying to lift a ban from the Probation Service that will not allow him appear on the show. The high court has ruled that the star, real name George O’Dowd, cannot participate in the new series of the Channel 4 show Celebrity Big Brother. Mr. Justice Bean said that the Probation Service could refuse Boy George the right to appear on the show adding that someone who is out on license and the specific restrictions in place on their freedom are a part of the punishment. A spokesman for the Probation service commented on the judgment saying “We believe we made a common sense direction and this has been endorsed by the judge. We expect offenders to keep to their license conditions which are in place to protect the public, punish offenders for their crime and aid rehabilitation.” The Culture Club singer admitted to the charges of false imprisonment after he handcuffed Audun Carlsen to a wall in his home in London in April 2007. |
