So last night was the much anticipated debate. Who do you think won? I have to say, that in general, I thought both got off the subject a lot, and it looked like Biden was really working to be nice and pleasant, while Palin seemed like a little chihuahua nagging at your heels.
She is intelligent, but she is toooo, way toooo familiar and casual in her speaking tone. I had a hard time taking her seriously and not rolling my eyes. They may almost have gotten stuck at the back of my head.
If you ask me, I think that Palin is taking down the Republican Party. and McCain with her.

Sen. Joe Biden gave a knowledgeable but restrained performance in Thursday night’s vice presidential debate, while Gov. Sarah Palin sought to show that her accomplishments as governor and mayor prove she is qualified for the job.
Gov. Sarah Palin told voters that she and Sen. John McCain are a “team of mavericks.”
Biden, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, slammed John McCain, saying “he has been no maverick on the issues that matter to people lives,” but his only challenge to Palin was asking her to articulate a policy on the Iraq war.
Palin, the Republican vice presidential candidate, pushed her “track record of reform” and said she and McCain are a “team of mavericks.”
“We’re known for putting partisan politics aside to just get the job done,” she said.
The debate took place at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, and was moderated by PBS’s Gwen Ifill.
The candidates covered everything from the economy to energy policy to foreign policy in the first and only vice presidential debate of the election season.
Paul Begala, a Democratic strategist and CNN contributor, said the candidates approached the questions in different ways.
“You had two different strategies. Joe Biden’s strategy was to hammer McCain, link him to the status quo and Bush. He succeeded,” Begala said.
“Sarah Palin’s strategy was to defend Sarah Palin and repair her damaged image, and I think she did a pretty good job of that,” he said.

MELBOURNE, Australia (AP) — An ambulance official says a jogger has been taken to hospital after he was attacked by a kangaroo on the outskirts of Australia’s second-largest city.
A jogger who hopped between a male and female kangaroo in Melbourne suffered a head injury and scratches.
Metropolitan Ambulance Service spokeswoman Christine Paterson says the man, in his 50s, was attacked Monday as he apparently ran between a male and female kangaroo near his home at an outer suburb of Melbourne.
She says the victim ran to a nearby house and telephoned for help while the kangaroo hopped away.
Paterson says he was taken by ambulance to a hospital in a stable condition with a gash on his head and minor claw scratches to his chest, arms and hands.
A Royal Melbourne Hospital spokeswoman was not immediately available for comment on the man’s condition.

(The Politico) The early response among Republicans to the announcement that Bristol Palin, the 17-year-old daughter of GOP VP hopeful Sarah Palin, is pregnant, has been calm and collected, although it has definitely raised concerns for rank-and-file Republicans that more unpleasant revelations may soon follow.
Responding to Internet rumors that Bristol Palin had given birth earlier this year, and that Sarah Palin had claimed the child was her son Trig, the McCain campaign released a statement saying that Bristol Palin is currently pregnant and plans to marry the father.
Republicans have either taken the line that Bristol Palin’s pregnancy is a personal matter for Palin and her family, or they are suggesting that it is a situation that lots of normal Americans can relate to, either from their own family history or that or friends and classmates.
“I don’t think this is going to be a big deal down the stretch” of the 2008 election, said a top House Republican aide, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
“It’s nobody’s business but the Palins,” added another Senate GOP leadership staffer.
But it does create a level of uncertaintly about Palin, among Republicans and the media, and that can be a huge negative for Palin’s candidacy. Combined with Troopergate, the allegation that Palin fired the top Alaska state police official because he refused to fire Palin’s former brother-in-law, a trooper.
“Clearly, yes, absolutely,” said a GOP strategist when asked about whether Republicans were afraid more negative stories about Palin would emerge soon.
“Palin can get through this, but what you don’t want is a level of uncertainty about her, about whether she should be on the [Republican] ticket. That’s not a good thing for any candidate.”

MIAMI (AP) — A man who authorities said was keeping weapons and military-style gear in his hotel room and car appeared in court Thursday on charges he threatened to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama. Raymond Hunter Geisel, 22, was arrested by the Secret Service on Saturday in Miami and was ordered held at Miami’s downtown detention center without bail Thursday by a federal magistrate.
A Secret Service affidavit charges that Geisel made the threat during a training class for bail bondsmen in Miami in late July. According to someone else in the 48-member class, Geisel allegedly referred to Obama with a racial epithet and continued, “If he gets elected, I’ll assassinate him myself.” Obama was most recently in Florida on Aug. 1-2 but did not visit the South Florida area. Another person in the class quoted Geisel as saying that “he hated George W. Bush and that he wanted to put a bullet in the president’s head,” according to the Secret Service. Geisel denied in a written statement to a Secret Service agent that he ever made those threats, and the documents don’t indicate that he ever took steps to carry out any assassination. He was charged only with threatening Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee, but not for any threat against President Bush. Geisel’s court-appointed attorney declined comment.
In the interview with a Secret Service agent, Geisel said “if he wanted to kill Senator Obama he simply would shoot him with a sniper rifle, but then he claimed that he was just joking,” according to court documents.
A search of Geisel’s 1998 Ford Explorer and hotel room in Miami uncovered a loaded 9mm handgun, knives, dozens of rounds of ammunition including armor-piercing types, body armor, military-style fatigues and a machete. The SUV was wired with flashing red and yellow emergency lights. Geisel told the Secret Service he was originally from Bangor, Maine, and had been living recently in a houseboat in the Florida Keys town of Marathon, according to court documents. He said he used the handgun for training for the bail bondsman class, had the knives for protection and used the machete to cut brush in Maine.
