Hurricane Gustav Track | Hurrican Gustav Tracking shows Landing on Same day as Katrina

Hurricane Gustav Track: New Orleans is considering evacuations after forecasters predicted Tropical Storm Gustav will return to a Hurricane Gustav Track and enter the U.S. Gulf of Mexico as a major storm by the weekend.

One of the things already affecting the Hurricane gustav Track is the price of oil. It spiked to day among worries of shortages caused by the Hurricane Gustav Track. One thing…The Hurricane Gustav Track is slated to land on the anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.

Hurricane Gustav Track continues to churn off the coast of Haiti, being downgraded from a Category 1 hurricane to a tropical storm on Wednesday.

Hurricane forecasters were predicting on Tuesday that Hurricane Gustav Track would skirt the western coast of Cuba and enter the Gulf of Mexico as a powerful Category 3 Hurricane Gustav Track with winds in excess of 100 miles per hour by Sunday.

Commercial Brokerage Corp’s Ed Kennedy said Tuesday: “There’s the possibility of a Category 3 to Category 5 hurricane in the Gulf on Sunday. Hurricane Gustav Track There’s major change in the track just since yesterday, and I’m sure there’s going to be more, but that’s what has everyone’s attention right now. If we get a major Hurricane Gustav Track in the Gulf there’s going to be a lot more short-covering.”

Officials in Louisiana have asked residents to start preparing for a possible hit from Hurricane Gustav Track this weekend, saying they should buy plenty of food and water, enough for 4-5 days, and whatever they or their pet may need.

Hurricane Fay : No Longer Tropical Storm Fay, Expected to become Hurricane Fay by Monday

Hurricane Fay? Tropical Storm Fay has now emerged off the west coast of Haiti and is moving westward away from the island of Hispaniola. This will provide the storm an opportunity to strengthen into Hurricane Fay.

A lack of strong wind shear will aid in the intensification so Fay is expected to strengthen to a Hurricane.

At 11 a.m. EST, Fay was located about 95 miles west-northwest of Port Au Prince, Haiti, and about 130 miles southeast of Guantanamo, Cuba.

The storm is moving west near 15 mph. Tropical storm force winds of 45 mph, with higher gusts, extend up to 105 miles from the center of the storm.

For now, the primary threat will be life threatening flash floods and mudslides in Hispaniola, spreading across parts of eastern and southern Cuba later today through Sunday as Fay is expected to dump 5 to 10 inches of rain.

Tropical storm warnings remain in effect in Haiti, the Turks and Caicos islands and the southeastern Bahamas. Tropical storm watches have been issued in Jamaica, the central Bahamas and the Cayman Islands.

A hurricane watch, tropical storm watches and warnings are in effect in several provinces in Cuba. Tropical storm watches are in effect for both Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.

Hurricane Fay is forecast to reach Category 1 hurricane strength by the time it moves over Cuba on Monday.

The Florida Keys and south Florida could see impacts beginning as early as Monday evening from this system.

Residents of Florida and the Southeastern U.S. should continue to monitor the progression of this system. Now is the time to review your plan of action.
