Ellen DeGeneres And Tim Gunn Named PETA’s People Of The Year

The People for the Ethnic Treatment of Animals (PETA) has managed to sift through the slew of celebrities who have stepped up to take action for animals this year to pick out their Man and Woman of the Year.

Fashion guru Tim Gunn is the Man of the Year, while funny woman and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres nabbed the Woman of the Year recognition.

Ellen has long been a spokesperson for animals, ditching all animal products in 2008, along with wife Portia De Rossi. The host regularly includes features  on her show that help raise animal awareness issues, along with featuring pages on her website that include tips such as cruelty-free living, recipes and where to shop info.

Fashion expert and reality show fashion mentor Tim Gunn was named Man of the Year for his fur-free lifestyle beliefs and designs. As the star of fashion reality series “Project Runway and the chief creative officer at Liz Claiborne, fans will see zero fur on the runway and in the company’s designs. Gunn also recently narrated PETA’s video exposing atrocities suffered by animals that are slaughtered for their pelts.
