Fans of Fringe heads up, seems Fox has “Unearthed” an episode that was meant to show in season one, but failed to make the cut. Now they’re going to air it just before the season two episodes of Fringe return on January 14.

The Unearthed episode of Fringe (that’s actually its name by the way) will feature Olivia’s pal Charlie. For those up to date with the present episodes of Fringe, that’s going to mean Unearthed must be from another realm, or a flashback. This seems an odd move, but heck, who’s going to complain when Fringe has been so damn fine this season. A little extra season one Fringe might be just what Doctor Bishop ordered until it’s true return a few days later.

Update: Fox website now stating Fringe returns January 7 and not 14 as previously suggested.
