Remember Dawson Leery, the kid who lived beside the creek with Katie Holmes back before she got all weird and Cruised? Well actor James Van Der Beek who played the creek loving Dawson alongside her is headed to Mercy hospital. Van Der Beek will be playing Liam West in the series, the new Chief of the ICU.

The big chinned dude is expected to be a recurring character on the series and is sure to set straight female viewers hearts a flutter. This guy has been a busy bee since exiting the creek, with a string of movies and TV appearances under his belt. Most recently the Beek has starred in TV series The Forgotten as well as recently completing work on Eva Adams, co-starring Rhea Seehorn and Will Arnett.
