‘Twilight’ director Catherine Hardwicke, who cast both Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson in the roles that would make them famous, comments on what she knows about the pair’s offscreen relationship. Hardwicke tells Time magazine, “After I cast him, I told Rob, ‘Don’t even think about having a romance with her. She’s under 18. You will be arrested.” Kristen is now 19 and Rob is now 23. But she implied to Time that the relationship between Kristen, now 19, and Rob, now 23, did progress over time: “I didn’t have a camera in the hotel room. I cannot say,” she told Time. “But in terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn’t happen on the first movie. Nothing crossed the line while on the first film. I think it took a long time for Kristen to realize, O.K., I’ve got to give this a go and really try to be with this person.” Earlier this week, Rob and Kristen were spotted arm-in-arm at a Paris airport. ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ hits theaters on November 20.
