Lindsay Lohan Not Even In India During Child-Saving Twitter Boast

Lindsay Lohan’s child-saving Twitter boast was unfounded, according to a non-governmental organization rep in India. She was not even in the Asian country when she claimed she saved over 40 children.

The “Mean Girls” actress announced through her Twitter that she arrived in India on Wednesday and saved over 40 children in just five hours as part of her documentary project with U.K. network BBC.

However, an Indian NGO rep said neither Lohan nor BBC was present at the time of the raid, which rescued around 50 trafficked children from New Delhi on December 8.

The children were reportedly rescued Tuesday from a workshop and taken to the Ashram rehabilitation center before being united with their families. The operation took place before Lohan landed in India, and a day before she and BBC visited the rehab center.
