Mariah Carey WIns Supporting Actress Award At Capri Film Festival For "Precious"

Mariah Carey enjoyed a glamorous night in Capri where she won an award for her very unglamorous role in the movie “Precious.” She stepped out with her husband Nick Cannon for the 14th Annual Capri Hollywood International Film Festival in Italy on Monday.

Carey took home the prize for Supporting Actress of the Year for her role as social worker Mrs. Weiss in the Lee Daniels film “Precious,” where she starred opposite Mo’Nique and newcomer Gabourey Sidibe.

Carey’s come along way since winning the Razzie Award for Worst Actress for “Glitter” back in 2002. She’s nominated along the rest of the cast for Best Ensemble at the Screen Actors Guild Award and for award from other film critic associations.

Along with an awards-filled season, Mariah kicks off 2010 with her “Angels Advocoate Tour,” beginning December 31st at Madison Square Garden in New York, and continuing on through the end of February.
