Neve Campbell hopes to scream for Wes Craven.

Empire magazine relays word from Black Book that Neve Campbell believes that Wes Craven will join the reunion that is “Scream 4.” Campbell and other originals Courtney Cox and David Arquette are already definites, as, of course, is writer Kevin Williamson (who really is the motivating force behind this whole thing). Campbell said:

I’m pretty sure at this stage that Wes [Craven] is back on board to direct and Kevin [Willamson] is definitely writing it…so it is going to be great.

Well, Neve, there are no guarantees in life, are there? As for the project in general, she says:

“I think it’s going to be a lot of fun, and a lot like going back to summer camp.”

I’ve always been under the impression that summer camp was more like a horror movie. So perhaps this is an apt analogy.

Fans of the “Scream” franchise, does it make a difference that Craven might be involved? Or do you feel positive or negative about the project no matter what? I’m not into them so I’m not the best one to judge. What I do wonder, though, is whether a “Scream” movie should now be a parody of a “Scary Movie?”
