Rip Torn Off To Rehab Following Alleged Bank Break-In

Rip Torn is going to rehab following his alleged bank break-in arrest. The veteran actor appeared in court in handcuffs on Monday, but did not enter a plea.

Torn, 78, was arrested Friday night in Salisbury, Connecticut for allegedly breaking into a bank while carrying a loaded gun. He was charged with carrying a firearm while intoxicated, first-degree burglary, first-degree criminal trespass and third-degree criminal mischief.

He has posted 0,000 bail and is expected to enter an alcohol treatment facility as early as Tuesday in New York.

As to why he broke into a bank, his lawyer said that the “Cross Creek” star didn’t now he was in a bank.
