Tess Daly Says Her Marriage Is "Worth Fighting" For

Tess Daly has spoken for the first time on TV about her marriage since it was revealed that her husband, Vernon Kay, had been sending explicit texts to five other women. The “Strictly Come Dancing” host has spoken to the BBC’s “One Show.”

Kay admitted last month to sending sexual texts to at least five other women. The presenter made an apology via his Radio One show saying that he has been “foolish and selfish,” but until now his wife has not spoken about his revelations. When being interviewed by the “One Show” team, Daly said, “It’s been tough as you can imagine, but I’ve taken some time out to think things through.”

The couple, who have been married since 2003, made their first public appearance together since the allegations at the Prince’s Trust award ceremony earlier this month.

Daly added in the interview: “At the end of the day we’ve had 10 great years together, we’ve got two beautiful kids and we both think that’s worth fighting for. Dealing with it in private is difficult enough but dealing but with it in public is even harder.” Daly added, “I’ve had so much support from everyone that I meet really, not just family and friends, that has really touched me a lot and has been amazing.”
