Tiger Woods says his wife acted courageously after his car accident. The highest paid athlete of 2008 takes the blame for his single-car accident on Friday.

Woods, 33, was involved in a car accident after he crashed his SUV into a fire hydrant and a neighbor’s tree Friday. His wife, who was not with him in the vehicle, smashed the back seat window of the car and pulled him out.

He wrote on his website to address the matter, saying, “The situation is my fault, and it’s obviously embarrassing to my family and me. I’m human and I’m not perfect. I will certainly make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

“?The only person responsible for the accident is me. My wife, Elin, acted courageously when she saw I was hurt and in trouble. She was the first person to help me. Any other assertion is absolutely false.”
