Two quirky Canadian TV shows you should catch Wonderfalls and Being Erica

Canada is not only known for some awesome music, it is also known for some of the coolest and quirkiest TV shows made. Two of the more recent series I’ve been enjoying are Wonderfalls and Being Erica. Both of these series definitely fit the quirky moniker and both feature main characters who are women with an affinity with supernatural silliness.
In Wonderfalls (2004), lead character Jaye Tyler (played delectably by Caroline Dhavernas) has the ability to speak to inanimate objects, or rather they talk to her. These objects generally speaking a cryptic message from an inanimate object that leads Jaye to help a stranger and so the silly plots evolves for each episode. Wonderfalls was pretty cool if you missed it and it’s available on DVD. Being Erica (2008) stars Erin Karpluk as Erica Strange, a young woman who – upon meeting a mysterious man named Dr Tom – can go back in time and change events in her life she regrets. Again if you missed this show, grab it on DVD (or if you live in Canada the new season is on TV), it’s pretty cool.
